No Surprises, From First Look to Final Coat

Every job runs the same four steps, whether it's a single garage or a 10,000 m² warehouse. Here's exactly what happens, what you get at each stage, and what we need from you (very little).

The Four Steps, In Full

The same four steps run every job we take, whether it's a garage in Glenfield or a warehouse in Wiri. Here's each one in full: what happens, what you get, and what it asks of you.

Free on-site assessment
Jay Walks Your Slab
Every quote starts with a visit, because concrete can't be quoted honestly from photos alone. Jay checks the slab's hardness, flatness and condition, looks for the things that change a job (old adhesives, cracks, moisture, previous coatings), and talks through what you want the floor to do and look like.

What you get: a straight verbal read on what your slab can honestly become, including which finishes it can and can't take.

What we need from you: access, and around 30 minutes.

Cost: nothing, and no obligation.
Empty commercial space with bare floor, large glass windows, open door, and scattered renovation materials.
Honest, Fixed Quote
Within two business days you'll have a written quote covering the recommended service, the finish specification (exposure and gloss levels for polishing work), timeframes, and a fixed price. If your slab suits a cheaper service than the one you asked about, the quote says so. If it needs repair work first, that's itemised, not discovered later.

What you get: a fixed price and a specification you can compare against any other quote, line by line.

What we need from you: a decision, in your own time. We don't chase.
The Job, Done Properly
We confirm the schedule before we start and protect everything that needs protecting. Then the work runs: preparation and repairs first, because preparation decides the result, followed by the grinding, polishing, sealing or coating your quote specifies. Every machine runs through industrial dust extraction, and the site is left tidy at the end of every day, not just the last one.

What you get: the floor you were quoted, on the schedule you were given, with your home or business usable around the work wherever the job allows.

What we need from you: clear floor space, access to power and water, and not much else. We'll confirm the specifics for your job before day one.

Walkthrough & Handover
Inspected Together, Guaranteed in Writing
When the floor's done, Jay walks it with you. Anything that isn't right gets sorted before we call it finished. You get a simple care guide (what to clean with, what to avoid, and when re-protection is due), and the paperwork for your workmanship guarantee, plus the 10-year warranty on mechanically polished floors.

What you get: a finished floor, the knowledge to keep it that way, and the guarantee that backs it.

What we need from you: your honest opinion on the walkthrough. We'd rather fix something on the day than hear about it in a review.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY

The Practical Stuff, Answered Up Front

Noise.

Grinding is loud while it's running. We'll tell you the loud days in advance so you can plan around them; many clients simply go out.

Dust.

Captured at the source by industrial extraction. Rooms adjacent to the work stay clean, and we seal off work areas in occupied homes.

Access and power.

We need clear floor space and access to standard power and water. For larger commercial jobs, we'll confirm power requirements at the quote stage.

Furniture.

Cleared floors before we arrive keeps your quote lean; we can arrange moving heavier items if agreed in the quote.

Living through it.

Most residential jobs allow you to stay in the house, using the work area's rooms around the schedule. Jay will tell you honestly at the assessment if your job is one of the exceptions.

Trading through it.

For shops, cafés and commercial sites we schedule around trading hours where the job allows, including staged and after-hours work by arrangement.

BUILDING NEW? TIMING MATTERS

New Builds: When to Bring Us In

The best polished concrete outcomes are planned before the slab is poured. Involve us early and we can advise on the pour specification, then work in with your build programme. Slabs need at least 28 days' cure before grinding, and for most new builds the smart sequence is two-staged: the main grind on the open slab before framing or after lockup (cheaper, faster, better edges), then the final refinement and protection once the trades are done.

If you're a builder or project manager, this coordination is routine for us; one conversation at the right time saves a floor's worth of compromises later.

The Process Doesn't End at the Invoice

Your care guide covers the simple routine that keeps the finish right: pH-neutral cleaning, and re-protection at the intervals set for your floor. Polished floors carry their 10-year warranty alongside that routine. And when the time comes, our maintenance service handles resealing and re-guarding, so the floor you paid for stays the floor you own.

FAQs

Process Questions, Answered

How far ahead do I need to book?

For residential work, we're typically booking two to four weeks out, and further ahead in spring and the pre-Christmas rush, when everyone wants floors done at once. Commercial and new-build work is scheduled at the quote stage around your programme, and the earlier we're in the conversation, the more schedule options you'll have. If your job is urgent, call us anyway: gaps open up, and big areas move fast on our Hiper Trowel equipment.

What if you find a problem mid-job?

We stop and talk to you before anything changes. Concrete occasionally hides surprises (old repairs, soft patches, buried fixings), and the deal is simple: no work beyond the quote happens without your sign-off on exactly what and why.

What does the assessment cost if I don't go ahead?

Nothing. The assessment is free with no obligation, and you keep the straight advice either way.

Do I have to be there while the work happens?

No. Plenty of clients hand over access and come home to progress. You'll get updates, and the walkthrough at the end is done together.

Can you match a schedule deadline, like a shop reopening?

Tell us the deadline at the quote stage and we'll tell you honestly whether it's achievable, then plan the job to hit it. For big areas, our Hiper Trowel equipment is built for exactly this.

Step One Costs Nothing
