Homes, Sheds and Big Rural Floors

The Waikato gives us a wider range of work than most places we go. Hamilton and Cambridge are steadily building and renovating, so there's a solid amount of residential polishing: new slabs finished from the start, and older floors coming up after the carpet goes.

But the bigger jobs out here are rural and industrial. Dairy sheds, processing floors, packhouses, engineering workshops and distribution warehouses all sit on concrete that takes a genuine hammering, from vehicles, plant, wash-down and constant traffic. Those floors need to be tough and easy to clean rather than pretty, and joints in them are usually the first thing to break down.

Where hygiene matters, and in the Waikato it often does, joint sealing has to be done with the right products. Food and dairy premises need sealants approved for use around food, and we'll give you the product details and approval codes for your compliance records.

The other thing about Waikato work is scale. Floors out here are frequently measured in thousands of square metres rather than hundreds, and we're set up for that. Fewer days on site, less labour per square metre, and a rate that actually improves as the floor gets bigger, which is unusual in this trade.

We schedule Waikato work in blocks where we can, so it's worth getting in touch earlier rather than later.

Large Area Concrete Polishing Across the Waikato

On a floor of a few hundred square metres, standard polishing equipment is fine. On a 5,000 square metre warehouse or processing floor, it becomes the critical path in your programme, because the machine simply can't cover enough ground per day and the labour cost climbs with every day it takes.

We're set up for large area work, covering substantially more ground per pass. That changes the maths in three ways: the job takes fewer days, the labour component drops, and the saving comes off your rate per square metre rather than sitting in someone's margin.

The finish is mechanically polished concrete, not a coating, which is why it stands up to forklifts and plant traffic in a way applied coatings don't. There's nothing on top to lift under wheel loads or fail in the traffic lanes first.

Send us your floor area, drawings and programme dates, and we'll come back with a rate per square metre, a realistic duration, and any constraints we can see from the plans. For work staged around production or across multiple sites, we'll quote a rate rather than job by job.
