The Waikato gives us a wider range of work than most places we go. Hamilton and Cambridge are steadily building and renovating, so there's a solid amount of residential polishing: new slabs finished from the start, and older floors coming up after the carpet goes.
But the bigger jobs out here are rural and industrial. Dairy sheds, processing floors, packhouses, engineering workshops and distribution warehouses all sit on concrete that takes a genuine hammering, from vehicles, plant, wash-down and constant traffic. Those floors need to be tough and easy to clean rather than pretty, and joints in them are usually the first thing to break down.
Where hygiene matters, and in the Waikato it often does, joint sealing has to be done with the right products. Food and dairy premises need sealants approved for use around food, and we'll give you the product details and approval codes for your compliance records.
The other thing about Waikato work is scale. Floors out here are frequently measured in thousands of square metres rather than hundreds, and we're set up for that. The finish is mechanically polished concrete, not a coating, which is why it stands up to forklifts and plant traffic in a way applied coatings don't. There's nothing on top to lift under wheel loads or fail in the traffic lanes first.
